Client Relationship Manager
Gensler
Can you tell us a bit about your career?
I began my career in commercial real estate 2006 when I became a title insurance representative in Colorado. The role afforded me the opportunity to relocate to Austin in 2013 with the same firm, Trinity Title of Texas. I instantly knew Austin was going to be my new “home.” In 2015, I transitioned from title insurance to working for Hensel Phelps a business development manager for a national commercial general contractor. I was fortunate to transition many of my newer Texas relationships with CRE development and A/E/C partners and truly blossomed in the Austin market. I was fortunate to learn from some of the best professional marketers in Austin during this time, helping my firm win new work with new clients and grow former relationships. During my time with HP I formed a great relationship with Gensler, and helped successfully win a very prestigious Design Build Development in Austin. In 2021, I transitioned from HP to work for Gensler as a client relationship manager.
What is your marketing superpower?
Its cliché to say, but I truly love our industry and I value the relationships I have formed over the years with clients, many of whom have become personal friends with whom I am honored to live life with. I have been told by many that I am reliable, consistent and genuine, and I believe that is the result of working other people who are like minded and enjoy this rat race as much as I do.
How did you get involved in SMPS?
I was introduced to SMPS by a group of industry ladies in the A/E/C space. We were all in similar BD or Marketing roles for our representative companies, all relatively of the same age range and stage of life. They adopted me into their group and we shared leads, struggles at work, the joys of big milestones and personal life stories. One of those impactful women was our SMPS chapter president Janki DePalma.
Why is SMPS valuable to you?
SMPS has provided me an platform to learn how to become a more engaging author of responses for proposals through some of the online classes and conference break out sessions. I have benefited from SMPS by growing a network of professional colleagues/advisors/mentors who not only have invested in my success and vice versa. I believe firmly that we are a reflection of those whom we surround ourselves with. I look forward monthly to attending presentations that are current and relevant to what is occurring in our local industry. I enjoy speaking with industry professionals openly and causally in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Why do you belong in SMPS?
I belong to SMPS for multiple reasons, first and foremost, the collective network of professionals not only locally here in Austin, but across the US who I have been fortunate enough to connect with. These are people that add value to me personally and my firm professionally. SMPS provides a platform to discuss industry best practices, bring value-add timely and relevant information to our local community. I plan to continue to give back to a group that has given so much to me by leaning in deeper and giving more and hopefully one day lead a committee or assist our chapter in a more meaningful way. I am grateful for that has been shared with me since joining and would love to pay it forward.
