Volunteer Committees
Joining a committee is one of the best ways to make the most out of your SMPS membership and expand your network.
Whether your talent is producing newsletters or programs, contacting members, taking photos of meetings, introducing speakers, or just coming up with good ideas, we can put your talents and interests to good use!

| Programs Committee | |
The programs committee meets once a month to plan and organize interesting topics and speakers for monthly meetings, quarterly Lunch and Learns and an annual half-day workshop. Our programs generally focus on "owners with work", marketing and business development topics and specific market sector outlooks. | |
| Education Committee | |
The Education Committee is responsible for planning and implementing educational events for AEC marketers and business developers. These events include professional development lunch-and-learns, roundtable discussions, mix and learns, and more. Educational opportunities are designed to help marketers and business developers at all levels within their organization do their job better and enhance their career path. This committee is ideal for a member who likes to plan events and is passionate about furthering our members' professional development. | |
| Membership Committee | |
The function of the membership committee is to promote the benefits of membership and assist in the membership process. Benefits are constantly being analyzed and upgraded to provide the best value to our members. | |
| Sponsorship Committee | |
The sponsorship committee provides opportunities for member and industry associated firms to showcase their company's products and services through program promotion and sponsorship. | |
| Communications Committee | |
The communications committee assists the chapter by bringing our message to the attention of the building industry. By raising the visibility of our chapter, we gain credibility, generate interest in programs and increase membership. This committee is ideal for members with a desire to strengthen their writing, graphic design and/or social media skills. | |
| Finance Committee | |
The finance committee oversees all financial aspects of the chapter, including web and on-site event registrations, sponsorship invoicing, expense payments and reimbursements, and assists the chapter president with the annual budgeting process. | |
| Special Events Committee | |
The Special Events Committee helps pull together our networking events such as the Black + White Bash, the chapter axe-throwing tournament, as well as monthly networking special events. This committee is ideal for a member who enjoys diving into the details of event planning. | |
