Message from SMPS Austin

To our SMPS Austin Community,

As the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is making global headlines, SMPS Austin continues to prioritize the health and safety of our members, volunteers, and community. As of March 17, 2020, all SMPS Austin in-person programming is postponed until June. While we deal with this unprecedented situation, we share your health concerns and appreciate your patience and the trust you place in SMPS.

At this time, we have the following updates to share:

  • April 14, 2020 Luncheon | POSTPONED (date coming soon)

Tickets to POSTPONED/RESCHEDULED events will automatically transfer to the new date – there is no action required on your part, unless you prefer a refund. Thank you for your patience as we handle updated registrations and refunds as quickly as possible. If you have any questions or prefer a refund, please contact our Logistics Director at [email protected].

Other Recommended Measures for Volunteers & Programs
We will also be adjusting our Board and committee meetings to virtual meetings or conference calls. This includes:

  • Chapter Board of Directors March and April Meetings
  • Chapter Committee/Sub-Committee Meetings

Additional Educational Opportunities
SMPS has a wide variety of educational opportunities that do not require social distancing, many of which are FREE to members. Don’t forget to take advantage of these benefits:

SMPS Austin continues to monitor the COVID-19 outbreak daily, looking to resources such as the City of Austin for recommendations on public events, as well as information and guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

We are in this together! Responding ethically and balancing safety and health concerns while continuing to educate and connect leaders in the building industry is SMPS Austin’s highest priority. As the situation continues to unfold, expect to receive more updates from us.
